Welcome to our Home Page

CSharp Kennels is a small, home based breeder of Portuguese Water Dogs residing in Regina, Saskatchewan. We breed for health, temperament and conformation. All of our Portuguese Water Dog pups come from
championship lines, where both the dam and sire have been health tested and cleared for any health issues before breeding. I am a
previous member of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of Canada, the Canadian Kennel Club and I am listed on the Portuguese Water Dog Health and Litter database, and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals site (OFA) where all health testing can be seen. CSharp Kennel is registered with the CKC. Our Portuguese Water dogs are first and foremost members of our family. They are raised in our home and are well socialized and exposed to neurological stimulation early in life to ensure a well balanced forever member of your family.

Portuguese Water Dogs are a beautiful mid-sized, hypo-allergenic breed that certainly has personality. If you are looking for a dog that does not require exercise and does not need your attention, please DO NOT consider a Portuguese Water Dog. They are intelligent, witty and very energetic! They have a mind of their own and without proper training and exercise will bore easily. The Portuguese Water Dog is however, easily trained and they aim to please!

The Portuguese Water Dog is a breed of working dog originally from the Portuguese region of the Algarve, coming in either a curly or wavy coat where they were taught to herd fish into nets, to retrieve lost tackle or broken nets and to act as couriers from ship to ship, or ship to shore. Having said that, they do not 'need' to live by water.

All of our puppies will have their first shots, be micro chipped, and will come with a blanket, a toy, a sample of food and 'instructions'. All pups will be placed with suitable forever homes on a non-breeding contract. If you are a breeder or interested in showing and/or breeding, this contract can be altered if specific criteria are met.
